Part 1: Broken People

  • What other examples of broken people do we find in the Bible? 
  • Why is it important to remember that the Bible is about "real" people like us? 
  • "God is never blind to our pain and predicaments." This reality is seen in the life of Hannah in 1st Samuel. What does this mean for our lives today? 
  • How would our lives change if we really believed/trusted that God is always working for our good even in chaos?

Part 2: Honest Prayers

  • On a scale of one to ten, how like are you to pray in the face of difficulty? 
    • If you are very likely to respond in prayer, what does that look like for you? 
    • If you are less likely to pray, what hindrances do you see to your prayers? 
  • What do you think an "honest prayer" looks like? 

Part 3: Acts of Praise

Read 1 Samuel 1:21-28
  • How do we respond to God's blessings?
  • How can we consistently remind ourselves to be worshipful people?

  1. Acknowledge God's goodness in the middle of our pain.
