Transformational Truths

Preached By: Chad Williams
Text: 1 Samuel 2:1-10

Part 1: God's Goodness

  • Read 1 Samuel 2:1 again. What does it mean for our hearts to "exult in the Lord?"
  • Why was Hannah's heart full of joy in the Lord?
  • Why is it easy for blessings to distract us from the provider of the blessings?
  • Discuss this statement with the group:
"Embracing God's goodness as your joy allows you to access the lesser joy of God's blessings."

Part 2: God's Power

  • Why is it important for Christians to be reminded that God is all knowing and all powerful?
  • What are the implications of those two truths on our daily life?

Part 3: God's Victory

  • How does Hannah's prayer show her belief in God's ultimate victory?
  • How can we live and pray in the belief that God has claimed ultimate victory in Christ?

Next Steps

Talk about taking these next steps as a group?
  1. Pray together as a group and "exult" in God's goodness, power, and victory.
  2. Choose one other person/family in the group to pray for every day this week. Reach out to one another and share one of God's blessings that you are thankful for.
    3. Later this week, read 1 Samuel 2:1-10 in your quiet time as your own prayer of thanksgiving to God.
