1. Creation
A Glorious God Creates a Good World.
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The first man and woman were made in His image, and enjoyed a perfect relationship with God. Everything was good, whole, and full of purpose.
(See Gen 1:1-2:3; Job 38-39; Psa 104; Col 1:15-17; Heb 11:1-3)
2. Curse
Human Beings Rebel Against God.
But the story takes a tragic turn. Our first parents rebelled against God, choosing their own way over His. Sin entered the world, fracturing our relationship with God, one another, and even creation itself. Now, all of us are born into this brokenness—sinners by nature and by choice.
(See Gen 2:16-17; 3:1-24; Rom 3:9-20, 23; 5:12-21; Gal 3:10; Eph 2:1-3)
3. Christ
God Came to Us in Human Flesh.
God did not leave us in our lostness. So God sent his Son, Jesus Christ-full of grace and truth, power and perfection, humility and holiness—to make a way for sinners to be reconciled to God.
(See John 1:1-3; 8:56-58; 10:29-31; Hebrews 1; 4:15; 7:26-28; Titus 2:13)
4. Cross
Jesus Died for Our Sins and was Raised to Life Again.
God did not leave us in our lostness. So God sent his Son, Jesus Christ, full of grace and truth, power and perfection, humility and holiness, to make a way for sinners to be reconciled to God.
(See Isa 53:4-5; Mark 10:45; John 10:14-18; Rom 5:6-11, 6:23; 2 Cor 5:21; Eph 1:19-21; 1 Pet 2:24; 1 John 1:5-2:2)
5. New Creation
God is Making a New People and a New Place
Just as God raised Jesus to new life, so God is making all things new. For those who trust in Christ, there is forgiveness, a new heart, and the promise of eternal life with God, free from pain and full of joy.
.(See John 3:16-18; Rom 12:1-2; 2 Cor 5:16-21; Rev 21-22)
